Brig. Gen. Allan R. Cecil serves as the Chief of Staff for the North Carolina Air National Guard. He is responsible for oversight of all Air Guard personnel at the North Carolina Joint Force Headquarters. General Cecil coordinates support functions between the Joint Force Headquarters and the 145th Airlift Wing. General Cecil advises the Adjutant General on policy and programs affecting military personnel and operations for the North Carolina Air National Guard. General Cecil also develops and implements new missions as appropriate for the North Carolina Air National Guard. General Cecil enlisted in the North Carolina Air National Guard in 1984 as a Weather Specialist. He is a 1996 graduate of Belmont Abbey College and was commissioned in May 1997 via the Air National Guard’s Academy of Military Science. General Cecil has held a variety of operational maintenance and support assignments at the wing, group, squadron, and flight levels. He has supported multiple contingencies, exercises and related missions including operations Enduring Freedom, Joint Forge, and Coronet Oak. General Cecil previously commanded the 145th Communications Flight, 145th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 145th Maintenance Squadron, and 145th Maintenance Group. Prior to his current position he was the Vice Commander, 145th Airlift Wing, North Carolina Air National Guard, Charlotte, North Carolina.
