The North Carolina National Guard and North Carolina Emergency Management’s (EM) Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team (HART) conducted the rescue of a firefighter that was injured while conducting clearing operations close to 20 miles south of Asheville N.C. at approximately 3:00 p.m. on March 25, 2025. The seven-man rescue team, made up of three EM technicians, two National Guard (NG) pilots, one NG crew member, and one NG medic conducted the extraction of the injured firefighter in approximately 30 minutes.
Raleigh, N.C. – The North Carolina National Guard (NCNG) has mobilized resources across eastern, central, and western North Carolina to assist Emergency Management during this winter storm.As of this morning, the North Carolina National Guard has activated approximately 188 personnel and employed 60 vehicles.This includes:
Washington, D.C. —Soldiers assigned to various units from the North Carolina National Guard are set to support the 60th Presidential Inauguration, January 20, 2025. At the request of the District of Columbia’s National Guard (DCNG), approximately ten Soldiers will be part of a Joint Incident Site Communications Capabilities team (JISSC) supporting the DCNG during the inauguration.
Raeford, N.C.—The Soldiers of headquarters and support company, 105th Engineer Battalion, held their mobilization ceremony on January 17th, 2025, in Raeford, North Carolina. The event marked the culmination of months of training and preparation with nearly 140 Soldiers deploying to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, the event showcased the unwavering dedication of the North Carolina National Guard to its motto: "Always Ready, Ready Team."
Raleigh, N.C. – 2,500 Soldiers and Airmen are now working in the Western North Carolina area with an approximately 1,000 more on their way Oct. 6, 2024. Joint Task Force- North Carolina, the task force made up of Soldiers and Airmen from 12 different states, two different 82nd Airborne units from Ft. Liberty, a unit coming from Ft. Campbell’s 101st Airborne, and numerous civilian entities are working side-by-side to get the much-needed help to the citizens in western North Carolina. 
Raleigh, N.C. – In response to Helene, the North Carolina National Guard (NCNG) has mobilized over 1,700 Soldiers and Airmen to provide lifesaving assistance across western North Carolina. Working in partnership with North Carolina Emergency Management, the NCNG is conducting 24-hour operations to ensure public safety, support evacuation efforts, and distribute critical supplies to impacted communities. 
Raleigh, N.C. – Soldiers, equipment and resources from Fort Liberty, North Carolina, moved into parts of Western North Carolina beginning Oct. 3, 2024, to augment the North Carolina National Guard and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the leading response agencies, with Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.
