Chief Master Sergeant Gregory A. Brown serves as the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the state of North Carolina. Chief Brown provides general supervision to the North Carolina Air National Guard enlisted force. He is the principle advisor to the Adjutant General and Assistant Adjutant General for Air, and other senior leaders on the military readiness, professional development, and the health, morale, and welfare of more than 1,200 enlisted Citizen Airmen. He works closely with N.C. Army National Guard senior leaders to ensure the effective integration of the enlisted force into joint operations supporting federal, state and local government agencies as well as community partners.
Chief Brown enlisted in the North Carolina Air National Guard in June 1993 as a Power Production Specialist in the 145th Civil Engineering Squadron. Chief Brown has deployed in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, CONSTANT VIGIL, JUMPSTART, ENDURING FREEDOM AND INHERENT RESOLVE. Prior to his current assignment Chief Brown was the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 145th Mission Support Group, Charlotte, North Carolina.
In his civilian profession, he is accountable for managing, directing, and coordinating gas field operations personnel and construction activities to ensure safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to customers in a cost-effective manner at one of America’s largest energy holding companies.
